Last year, The Hubster and I decided that in 2018 we were going to take a trip once a month.
We knew we weren’t going on giant vacations every month, but our goal was to get away and find something fun and new to do.
Come on in and see how we did!
January
Our first month definitely started out right because we went to Disney World!
We spent time at Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Hollywood Studios.
It was The Hubster’s first time at Disney and I think he had a good time.
I think we want to go back again but probably for the Food and Wine Festival in the Fall.
February
In February, we decided to just go for a quick weekend trip to Deep Creek Lake.
It was a really low-key, relaxing trip and it was nice to not have to worry about anything.
I like when my biggest priorities are where we are having dinner. 🙂
March
In March, we took our show on the road to Harpers Ferry.
It was another pretty low-key weekends, but we got to experience a little bit of American History (John Brown’s Raid on Harper’s Ferry, anyone?)
The food we ate was so amazing and we even ended up on the Appalachian Trail for a little bit.
I’m looking forward to going back to that Bed & Breakfast for sure!
April
April was a pretty fantastic trip month because we went to Waco to visit Magnolia!!
I’m so happy that this was on our travel list for 2018 because it was so much fun staying in a Fixer Upper house and visiting the market and bakery.
We also fit in a stop to the Houston Space Center for The Hubster.
May
In May we headed back to one of our favorite places in the world – Niantic and Newport.
We overdosed on lobster, got to smell the salt water, and relaxed together.
It was the perfect trip.
June
The June trip was a little different because we headed to Savor, a beer festival in DC with some friends.
It was really fun to see everyone that we don’t get to see very often and drink and eat some amazing food.
July
In July, we spent a few days in Asheville with our friends.
It was so much fun!
There were so many really fun things to do and I highly recommend you visit!
August
August was such a crazy month and we spent half of it traveling around for work.
So we had a staycation and explored Pittsburgh!
September
Super fail.
We didn’t anywhere fun and for us in September.
We did go on a road trip for work to Indiana in a U-Haul.
I can honestly say we didn’t sit at home and twiddle our thumbs. 🙂
October
Double Super Fail.
We went no where personally.
Work got the best of us.
We did spent some time in Cali for work and did get in a few fun things.
November
Back to our regularly scheduled programming!!
In November we headed to Nantucket for a weekend of chilling out and eating.
It was pretty fantastic.
December
Yeah…no.
We will be going to Buffalo to spend Christmas with family but that doesn’t so much count because what you don’t see above are the 8 million trips we take there anyway.
~*~
So in conclusion, I think we did a really good job of getting ourselves on fun little trips every month. I really liked that we had something to look forward to every month.
We’re going to try to keep it up for 2019 too. 🙂
