Christmas Books

I decided that I really wanted to live Advent this year.

So I picked up some books to help me with that.

Unwrapping the Names of Jesus looks like a good book to get us all the way through Advent with various things to do and live each day.

The 13th Gift isn’t really a devotional, but looks like a really good story to read this time of year.

And then I’m going to re-read The Women of Christmas.

This book really touched me last year and I think we all need these reminders. 🙂

Friday Favorites

Friday Favorites

I’m linking up with ErikaNarci, and Andrea to share my favorite thing this week.

And this week it’s my Dad!

On Sunday, my Dad fell off a ladder and got really hurt.

He broke 4 vertebrate in his back, bruised his lung, and has a concussion.

He’s been in the hospital since Sunday and The Hubster and I rushed back to be with him.

My Dad’s going to be okay – it’s going to be a 3+ month recovery for him, but it looks like he’ll be back to his normal self after that.

I have the greatest dad in the world – he’s my biggest cheerleader, brings me back down to earth when I need it, best advice giver, and lives a good, faithful life. I am so so glad that he wasn’t hurt more seriously because we could have lost him.

This week, my Dad is my favorite!

Happy Shopping!

Today’s the biggest shopping day of the year!

And I’m totally not doing it.

I can’t stand the crowds – the pushing and shoving and “un” holiday like spirit for a tv.

No thank you.

Instead, I’m visiting some friends I haven’t seen in a long time and hanging out with my family.

I’m pretty excited to sit by a fire in a cozy coffee shop drinking a peppermint hot chocolate with some of my besties.

The Hubster is freezing his you know what off in a tree stand.

Have a great weekend!
