We took a trip to California in the beginning of October.
October always starts with our anniversary!
So we said cheers to 8! 🙂
These are the faces of 2 people who are starving.
The Hubster picked a restaurant for us to eat and mistakenly picked a gluten free, vegan restaurant.
Now, I know a lot of people who are vegan and I am really glad there is somewhere they can go and eat anything and know it’s good for them.
I am, however, a carnivore. And eating gluten-free, vegan food isn’t filling for me.
Or The Hubster.
Still, we had a good time and had fun celebrating 8 years.
We got Dairy Queen on the way home! 😉
A few days later, we headed to California for work.
You guys.
I’m a fan of any flight where you get your own tv.
And it’s pretty much the best flight ever when there’s a Dawson’s Creek marathon on.
The Hubster was pretty excited that he had his own tv to watch whatever it was that he watched. I was too engrossed in Pacey Witter to really pay attention to his screen.
I’m a happy person when I’m in a location where palm trees are found in their natural element. 🙂
Life is also fantastic when I can have a Jamba Juice.
I AM IN LOVE WITH IN-N-OUT BURGER.
The end.
Just kidding.
I was at one like 10 years ago and remember thinking it was good.
It was The Hubster’s first time.
Now I’m ready to lobby the company and figure out how to get them on the East Coast!
California Targets have wine sections, you guys.
WINE AISLE IN TARGET.
Between In-N-Out Burger and Target’s with wine…I might have to consider moving.
Day 1 of the trade show I had to work.
Do I look ready for being at a trade show booth or ready for a safari?
Trade show booth life – day 1.
Boring afternoons at a trade show are always more fun with a $15 sangria!
Would you buy a fuel cell from this face?
I just love this guy.
True Story.
🙂
One night after work we went to the Santa Monica Pier.
I haven’t been there in like 10-12 years and it’s so much the same.
The Hubster hasn’t been there (outside of Grand Theft Auto – face palm) so it was fun to walk around and see all the stuff people are selling and the rides.
We don’t get to do this every night!
The pier is pretty cool.
We walked along Ocean Avenue and found a restaurant called Meat.
I ate the most amazing steak ever.
It melted in my mouth.
My mouth is watering as I type this post.
This guy loves me so much that he’ll walk on a cold beach, stand in the ocean, and get his shorts all wet.
We’re water people and I just desperately wanted to be in the ocean.
So it was 11pm and we dipped our feet in the water.
I love the beach and will do anything for an opportunity to stick my feet in!
And The Hubster can’t help himself either – he waded right in!!
The next morning, we woke up a little early and drove into the mountains.
Isn’t it so pretty?
I always think of California as being flat – especially LA. These mountains were gorgeous.
Latte art is the best because (1) it’s a latte! and (2) I can’t even draw that well on paper and they do it with foam!
It was really nice to have weather warm enough for shorts.
You never know what it’s going to be in October in PA, so I was happy to have some sandals on and enjoyed the sunshine.
One night before dinner, we saw this moving light in the sky and I was all like, “I think it’s a UFO” and The Hubster looked at me like I had 5 eyes.
He assured me it was a comet or meteor shower.
It was actually a SpaceX launch. Which is so cool!
I’ve never seen a rocket ship launch and that was one of the coolest things we’ve ever seen.
And to think, if I had taken a few more minutes straightening my hair, we never would have seen it!
Who else can’t help themselves with chips and salsa?
Everyone?
Okay. Good. Me too.
We fit in a fun mini golf date.
And it was really fun and we both ended up getting a hole in one.
I also had a hole where it took me 6 tries to get it in the hole.
After that many days at the same booth, you find ways to amuse yourself.
One more burger.
This time we found the secret menu and I was pretty much shoveling the fries in my mouth.
It was very romantic and lady like. 😉
I look remarkably away for having gotten up at 3am for a flight.
🙂
All in all, it was a pretty fun work trip.
