The last Wednesday of every month I link up with Mix & Match Mama, Sheaffer Told Me To, and The Larson Lingo to talk about What’s Up Wednesday.
Come on in and see what’s happening!
[what we’re eating this week]
I think I mentioned it last week, but we started Blue Apron again and let me say, it does/has not disappointed.
We’ve had spaghetti bolognese, creamy gnocci, and shakshuka (no idea what it is but it’s soo good!)
I have a few free trials I can give away, so comment below if you’re interested and I’ll send you one. You won’t be sad.
[what i’m reminiscing about]
My father-in-law retired 3 years ago. We got to attend the honors awards where he gave a really nice farewell lecture.
It’s hard to believe that was 3 years ago!!
[what i’m loving]
I finally got to use my hammock that The Hubster got me for my birthday.
I spent Sunday afternoon reading and relaxing in the backyard. I am really loving this whole relaxing on the patio thing.
The Hubster was working at the patio table while I relaxed and he was pretty sure I would fall out of the hammock. He also said that it wouldn’t hold both of us when I invited him to come lay with me. The buzzkill also said it wasn’t a trampoline and bouncing on it was frowned upon. hahahaha
Can’t wait to spend the summer relaxing!
[what we’ve been up to]
Now that it’s spring, we needed to do something with our plants. I called my favorite gardner, my Dad (!), to come over and help us.
He went to town and now our yard looks all pruned and ready for the rest of spring and summer.
Also, I swear I was helping and not just watching and taking pictures. lol
[what i’m dreading]
I have my annual doctors appointments coming up and let’s just say I am really unexcited to wear the paper gowns.
[what i’m working on]
My mother-in-law is retiring at the end of this school year and we’re planning a huge party to celebrate.
She doesn’t read this blog so I’m pretty comfortable sharing about it on here. lol
We just booked the food, tent, tables, and chairs. This weekend we’re firming up the invitations and guest list so I can start working on the addressing.
That makes me want to take a calligraphy class so I can fancy address the invites!
[what i’m excited about]
I get to hang out with one of my besties this weekend!!! 😀
She’s one of my most favorite people in the entire world. I haven’t seen her since before Christmas and I cannot wait to see her!!
[what i’m watching/reading]
The season finale of When Calls the Heart was on on Sunday and pretty much I’ll be going through withdrawl until Christmas or you know 2018.
::sob::
I don’t know why it took me so long to get hooked on this show.
Have any of you read Crimes Against a Book Club? I’m only a little way into it but so far it’s super funny. I recommend it!
[what i’m listening to]
Lately I haven’t been able to stop listening to It Ain’t Me by Selena Gomez & Kygo. It’s really catchy.
Now I’m a tween. ha!!
Also on repeat in my car is Michael Buble Meets Madison Square Garden.
I saw him during this tour in Buffalo and he was uh-mazing.
Funny story – I flew back to Buffalo to see this concert with one of my besties. While we were in the concert, Buffalo got hit with a super bad lake effect snow storm. So when I left the concert, I had voicemails from both of my parents and my brother telling me not to take either of the usual routes back to the house because the snow was not so great. There was even an announcement in the arena as we left saying the main highway was closed due to weather.
So I took all back roads home and a normally 30 min trip took about an hour.
Turns out my brother was stuck on the main highway and was stranded in his car in ~3ft of snow all night. He got rescued about 10am the next morning!!
And the craziest part of the storm is that the airport didn’t get any snow (that’s how lake effect works sometimes) and I was able to fly back home without any delays or issues. It was so weird.
My brother now doesn’t travel in the winter without snow boots and a blanket in his trunk. lol
[what i’m wearing]
I posted about my recent outfits here and here. And if you want to see what I wore on vacation, then check out this post here.
[what i’m doing this weekend]
We’re heading to Buffalo this weekend to go to a gala!! It’s to raise money and awareness for PKU. Stay tuned for a post about PKU next week and I’ll tell you all about it.
In the meantime, I’ll be here, trying on 800 million dresses trying to decide what looks best on me.
[what i’m looking forward to next month]
May is actually turning into quite a busy month for us. We’ll be celebrating Mother’s Day with our moms. A friend’s daughter is making her first communion. And I have a wedding shower for my cousin.
Plus we have my father-in-law and brother-in-law’s birthdays.
Lots to celebrate.
[what else is new]
These babies are on their way to me for this weekend!! I am super excited because they are so adorable and I can’t wait to wear them!
