I love this picture. It perfectly sums up my sisters-in-law and me.
I was blessed in this life with a brother. He’s been my best friend and worst enemy. He totally gets me. He makes the best grilled cheese in the world. He once put sticky tack in my hair as revenge. He has a thoughtful heart. He once hit me in the face with a baseball bat.
Do you see where I’m going?
Brothers are awesome. They’re also boys.
I always longed for a sister. Someone to giggle with. Someone to share clothes with. Someone to whisper about boys.
The Hubster has a sister. And when we got married, I had no idea that I was getting not only a sister but a best friend.
To top that off, The Hubster’s brother married, Jess, someone else who is has turned into not only my sister-in-law, but a fantastic listener and someone who I’m thrilled to call a friend, too.
I’m a pretty lucky girl.
I never imagined or dreamed that my sisters would really be family. They’re the sisters I giggle with. The ones who give me the brutal honest truth about clothes and makeup. I can whisper secrets about anything and they get it.
Sisters don’t always take the shape of what we have imagined or prayed for but the answered prayer is pretty amazing.
