Today let’s get down to some good old fashion girlfriend chat. I need some advice and who better to ask than all of you guys!
The Hubster and I have been trying to have a baby for about a year and it’s not going as well as we had imagined.
I mean don’t most people think, hey we want to have a baby. Let’s have some time to ourselves, I’ll pee on a stick, and Bam! a baby?
I totally thought that’s what would happen.
Haven’t we been surprised that it doesn’t always work that way.
Now I’m not going to say it’s been a total surprise.
I am *cough* 34 almost 35 *cough* and apparently that means “advanced maternal age.”
I mean. I’m in my mid30s. I’m not a grandmother.
Although apparently no one told my eggs that and they’re all old. Despite the fact that I still feel young and hip, I am indeed not.
I just bought a book called Taking Charge of Your Fertility.
Do you guys have any other advice or books you think I should be reading?
I’m making an appointment with my doctor to discuss further, but I know this community is always open to great advice.
Note: We are also open to other options. I am adopted. I’m totally open to adoption and we are absolutely going to adopt a baby someday. That’s totally on my heart.
But trying to have a baby first is kind of something I want to try.
