We just got back from a super quick weekend trip to Carolina Beach and it was just what we needed.

Two people who are super excited to be on a plane again!!
We headed to Carolina Beach to meet up with my brother-in-law’s family and celebrate our niece’s 2nd birthday. She got kind of the short end of the stick because her 1st birthday was in quarantine and no one got to attend. They recently decided to move to the beach and of course we were going to visit them on the beach!

We landed just in time to help decorate.

We got to meet up with the Birthday Girl for breakfast and she was LOVING the pancakes and sausage.
My mother-in-law and I, however, were paranoid crazy people because we were in charge of feeding this girl, who was wearing her party clothes, and trying to make sure she didn’t arrive to her party with remnants of brunch on herself.

My sister-in-law makes the best charcuterie boards. When she throws a party, you know you’re going to get some yummy meats and cheeses!

These Minnie cookies are so cute!

Pin the nose on Minnie was pretty fun.
Also, she’s a cheater! 😉

My sister-in-law’s step brother has 4 boys aged 9, 6, 4, and 2. They are a very busy family.
The boys are also lethal with a bat and a pinata!

Ice cream cake time!

After the Birthday Girl went for a nap, we headed to the beach.
And I was more than happy to stick my feet in the ocean!

We are the happiest people in the world right here.
We’re at the beach.
We’re with some of our favorite people.
Life is good.

Some people in our party (ahem – the super fair skinned people) asked to do something out of the sun.
Fort Fisher, a Civil War battlesite, was right down the street and the perfect place to do some sightseeing.

It was a really cool place to look around.
But there was no shade.
Sorry fair skinned people.
We pretty much gave them sunblock and giant hats.

I can’t even imagine the trouble these 2 got into as kids.
I mean, they lived together when they were in their early 20s and I was dating The Hubster. And that was an adventure.
So them as kids?
T-R-O-U-B-L-E
Also, I can’t even with how much did they eat! Yikes!

We ended the night with some dinner and another stop on the beach!
So fun to be back traveling again!! Stay tuned for Part 2!
