We decided to take a flight from Boston to Nantucket because the cost was about the same as driving and the time savings was huge.
That might have been a mistake.
We took the smallest plane ever and my seat was behind the pilot.
Yeah.
I was a little bit traumatized.
And I’m not a nervous flyer at all.
We checked into our B&B and relaxed a bit before dinner.
We went to Charlie Noble for dinner and it was pretty delightful. The Hubster had a lobster roll and I enjoyed a beet salad with some lobster mac and cheese. Our tummies were happy!
The next morning I started with a Nantucket blend coffee and we were ready for the day!
Walking around Nantucket is so cute. The streets in the main part of the island are all bricks and so fun to explore.
Caveat: I wore Ugg boots the entire time because uneven streets.
I watched a lady make a huge blanket on a loom at Nantucket Looms.
I briefly contemplated buying one and then realized the blanket price had a comma in it and The Hubster ushered me out of the store really fast after that.
I was soo happy to find a little bookstore where they featured all of my favorite Nantucket authors – Elin Hilderbrand and Nancy Thayer!
We stopped for a quick drink and a snack of lobster mac and cheese.
This one was fantastic and had lots of lobster claw meat in it – my favorite!
We took a stroll down to the water, of course.
It was super windy!
One of us tried really hard for a selfie.
I am terrified of birds.
The seagulls in Nantucket were giant.
The Hubster thought it would be funny to see how close he could get.
I stayed far away.
Our B&B room came with prosecco and cheese, which made the perfect afternoon snack!
I watched some Christmas movie on tv while The Hubster took a snooze (he was really sick on this trip with an awful head cold).
Then we headed to dinner.
I didn’t get a picture of it, but had the best pork chop and purple cabbage.
The next morning, I decided that we should walk around and find cool places to eat and drink all day.
The first place was the Greydon House and their eggs benedict was pretty tasty. Then we made it to the Club Car where I had a fruity drink and some mushroom toast.
One of us was done eating for awhile (party pooper), so we headed to the Whaling Museum.
We sat and listened to the telling of The Essex.
And I admit, I got bored halfway through it.
All I could think was this:
Yep.
#istilllovegilmoregirls
But then we find out that The Essex is the crazy story of which Herman Melville’s Moby Dick.
So that was kind of cool.
And this piece of yarn is the only thing left from that ship.
And then I was bored again and left to my own devices…
I should really not be allowed near sculptures.

Or allowed to take these funny pictures.
The view from the top of the Whaling Museum is really good, though.
No pictures from dinner that night but we went to Ventuno for dinner.
Seriously it was the best bucatini I’ve ever had in my whole life.
I don’t have pictures because I was shoving it in my mouth. hehe
2 things here – I bought 2 Nantucket books while on the island. (heart eyes)
And go to Island Coffee!!
The people aren’t super friendly in there but their lattes are amazing. Seriously amazing.
Yeah.
Not cool.
So happy to be back on the ground!!
Yes. Then I did this.
It was fun! 🙂
The Hubster was horrified.
Then end.
Just kidding.
Then we flew home.
It was so fun and I highly recommend visiting Nantucket.
We did it in the off-season so not as many restaurants were open, but we still found good food.
Also, The Hubster was crazy sick this trip, so we didn’t get to do quite as much as we had hoped, but still had fun and got some relaxing in.
