The Hubster and I had a ton of fun last weekend celebrating 15 (!!) years of being together.
Crazy right?
Wanna see all the fun we had? Come on in!
This is us in 2009.
We had gotten engaged about 7 weeks before this picture was taken. We decided to celebrate our engagement all summer and obviously we went back to where it all started.
The Hubster was a few weeks away from moving to Colorado for work.
In any case – we go to the fair every single year
This year, we started out with a virtual reality drone experience.
I don’t know completely what that means or what we were looking at, but The Hubster looked funny doing it!
And then I started eating.
🙂
We started the day with deep fried pierogies.
Yes.
They were amazing.
Then for half a buck we tried our luck.
No, that’s seriously what the I Got It caller said. hehe
We didn’t get it.
But it was fun throwing the bouncy balls into the grates.
We clearly worked up and appetite and went for some corn!
You know, we were making healthy choices.
Minus the butter and salt.
We watched a guy do a glass blowing demonstration.
We looked at tractors that had wheels taller than me!
This awesome band was playing old standards, so we took a seat and listened for awhile. They were so good and as it turns out, the band director used to live in the same neighborhood as The Hubster when he was growing up.
By then it was time for dinner, so I went for a gyro with lamb.
Oh my gosh – it was amazing!
Okay, so we have history in this exact spot.
11 years ago, we had been dating for 4 years and when we got here to have some dinner, The Hubster started getting all weird.
He was like “hey can you believe we’ve been together for 4 years now and it’s been pretty great.”
I got so excited because I thought that he was proposing that I have absolutely no idea what else he said.
All I know is that he ended with “okay let’s get some chicken for dinner” and I didn’t have a proposal.
hahahahaha
Here we are 11 years after that and he’s still the best thing that ever happened to me.
After dinner, we did something we’ve never done before.
We watched a llama jumping competition.
It was hilarious.
It was so funny and I can’t imagine seeing this anywhere else!
We happened upon my sister-in-law and her kids when they were on the ferris wheel.
I’m terrified of the ferris wheel, but they had a blast!
I hopped on the carousel with my niece and pretended I was in Mary Poppins for a few minutes. 🙂
Someone was waving to me as we went by too.
Game on!
Love this guy so much!
Fireworks were back!
Cheers to 15 years, Hubster! You’re the best guy ever!
Also yes, that is me holding a giant bag of cotton candy! 🙂
