[what we’re eating this week]

I bought a raspberry pie from a local farm and oh. my. gosh.

This is the most delicious pie we’ve ever had.

All of the fruit is locally grown and it’s so good.

We might have argued over who ate more of the “shared” last piece. 😉

[what i’m reminiscing about]

Fr. Bucki, the priest that married us and who was the pastor of my parish in college, passed away a few weeks ago.

I’m feeling sad that he won’t be able to baptize our (future) children and really that he’s not here anymore.

He so embodied the Jesuit spirit and will be missed.

We were able to attend a memorial service for him last weekend and I’m so glad we were able to be there to celebrate his life.

We spent a few hours on the boat last weekend.

It was glorious.

I love being on the water!

I think we can all agree I love Christmas and shopping.

But I’m dreading seeing all the ads.

Because I think we’re going to see them soon.

[what i’m working on]

Our 7th wedding anniversary is next week and I’m working on a really fun anniversary present for The Hubster. Once I give it to him, I’ll be happy to share it with you!

[what i’m excited about]

One of my friends is going to her high school reunion and wants my opinion on her outfits.

So we’ll be shopping next weekend for the perfect outfit!

Hopefully she’ll let me blog it! 🙂

[what i’m watching/reading]

I just sobbed my way through Lion.

I have so many thoughts about this movie and I want to share them with you. It’s such a personal thing for me, but this movie just totally spoke to my heart. It’s on Netflix and I highly encourage you to watch it.

I really want to read this book now, too.

Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan kept coming up in suggestions for me and I have to say, it’s hilarious. I love it and can’t wait to find out what happens to everyone. And I’m happy to see there are 2 more books, so I have more fun to look forward to!

I always think I’m not going to like Pink’s music and then I end up not being able to stop listening to it. Her new song is really good.

The Hubster and I are going to Chicago for an anniversary trip! 🙂 Can’t wait – we’ve never been there and we’re really looking forward to eating at lots of great places.

We’re not working at it this year, so it’ll be fun to just attend and see all the cool stuff there.
