I’m going to sum up the rest of our vacation like this:
We visited a bunch of vineyards. The Hubster worked a lot. We all fished and caught a whole lot of nothing.
So if you don’t want to see pictures of our trip, that’s what happened. 🙂
There are fun pictures inside this post, so come on in!

I don’t know if I’ve ever mentioned it here, but I love, love penguins.
I have penguin dishes, stuffed animals, pictures on the wall – you get the picture.
So when we figured out that Penguin Bay winery was just down the street, I knew I had to go in there.
The wine was good and I enjoyed all of their penguin themed decorations!
Our second winery stop was at Chateau Lafayette Reneau, our favorite winery. One of their signature wines, Roaring Red, is one of my most favorite wines. It’s more dry than a table red, but not super dry. We’ve been to this winery a bunch of times before.
This year, we discovered their 2016 Barrel Aged Chardonnay was amazing and so we ended up buying some of that too! We were so happy to be back!
We decided to go out for dinner that night and this guy looked a little lonely.
It also embarrassed my family that I took a selfie with this decoration, so bonus! hehehe
After dinner, we all wandered around the town dock. What was so fun about this is that I used to vacation here with my family when I was younger. It brought back all kinds of awesome memories.
Plus, how adorable is my niece running into her daddy’s arms?
Like I said before, another day, another winery! 🙂
Thursday was winery day. We hit up a bunch of them and a distillery!
The first stop was Wagner Vineyards where we got a tour of their wine making process and got to see their koi pond with a gorgeous swan in it.
This winery also had a brewery and made their own root beer.
I happen to love root beer, so I bought a giant can of it to bring home.
Another thing you probably don’t know about me is that I love bourbon. The Hubster jokes that I’m a 65 year old man. So when we got to tour a distillery, I was super excited!
The aging room smells amazing – I could just smell that all day – it’s a really sweet smell.
And before we left, I ordered a bourbon neat and it was awesome!
We hit up one more winery before we headed back home and I realized I had to step up the selfie game!
I have to make a side note here – I didn’t put on makeup for like 10 days. So that’s what my face looks like. 😉 We’re also not sure why The Hubster didn’t shave. But that’s us on the bottom – in our natural states. hahaha
I was super excited to be able to meet up with my Aunt Judy and Uncle Joe. I haven’t seen them in a few years and we were thrilled when we realized that they were only 40 minutes away.
They came to visit and eat dinner with us. It was so great to see them!
We did a little more night fishing.
I didn’t catch anything.
Nothing the entire trip.
Boo.
This picture can summarize our entire trip. The Hubster is working in the background. There’s a bag of worms for fishing. And I’m drinking some kind of fruity wine drink.
This is us the entire week. It’s not really all that glamorous.
Worms rarely are. 😉
We rented a boat and spent some time on the water.
The Hubster and I tubed together. That was really fun. My arms might still be sore from hanging on!
I have all the heart eyes for this guy.
So the winner of the family fishing derby is my 4 year old nephew!
He caught the most fish and the largest fish.
Talk about humbling.
I got beat by a 4 year old with a kid-sized fishing pole!!
He was thrilled and we were so happy to see him having a great time.
The Hubster and I ended the vacation with a glass of wine and relaxing together.
Despite how busy it was and that he worked a lot of the trip, I wouldn’t have it any other way. He’s my favorite!
Hope you enjoyed seeing a little glimpse into our trip! See you tomorrow for Friday Favorites!
