It’s time for another Show & Tell Tuesday with momfessionals!
This time we’re taking a trip down memory lane – our favorite toys, tv shows, movies, clothes.
I played with dolls all the time when I was growing up. My baby dolls were pretty much my favorite toy of my entire childhood.
When I was about 7, I really wanted a Cabbage Patch doll. When I was Christmas shopping with my mom one afternoon, we found one on clearance that I desperately wanted. I picked her up and carried her around the entire store. When we went to leave, my mom told me that we were buying the doll but it was for my cousin because she would love to have this doll, too.
I cried the entire way home.
But on Christmas morning, the doll was under the tree from my parents! (I was a Santa believer still.) My mom and I laugh about this now. She said that she knew it was a good deal and the doll wouldn’t be there if we left it, so she had to make up a story. I get it now, but man, I was heartbroken!
I spent many Saturday mornings watching TNBC – Saved by the Bell, California Dreams, Hang Time. Oh my gosh. I loved all of these shows.
If you didn’t want to be Kelly Kapowski…we can’t be friends!
Yeah – who didn’t love TGIF?!?!
Do you think my love of the game Mall Madness was a precursor to my love of shopping? hehe
I have always always loved reading.
I think I’ve read the first 100 books in The Babysitters Club series.
I also started my own (unsuccessful) babysitters club. It didn’t work because my clients didn’t want my friends and vice versa.
Also on my reading list back in the day were the Sweet Valley High books.
A few years ago I found out there’s an Elizabeth and Jessica Wakefield update. I’ll have to reread and review them in Book Club!
I played this Amy Grant tape on repeat.
Did you carry one of these? Because I did. Around Disney World. With snacks because we weren’t buying snacks in the park.
Also.
I had some that matched my neon outfits.
I was so cool.
What a fun trip down memory lane! Can’t wait to see what you guys share!
