It’s the first What’s Up Wednesday of 2017!
[what we’re eating this week]
Full disclosure: I am a fail at making lunch every day. I would say that I bring lunch to work about 3 or 4 days a month.
But something amazing just happened. One of our friends started making bag lunches and selling them. So The Hubster and I hopped on that train super fast.
It is amazing.
2 days a week we get a bag lunch that includes a sandwich, chips, stuffed olives, a Babybel cheese, fruit cup, chips, and a brownie.
It’s cheaper than me to get a sandwich at Subway.
I’m the happiest person ever now at lunch!
[what i’m reminiscing about]
I miss this girl something fierce.
We worked together for 4 years and saw each other almost every day.
Then we both moved on to different jobs but still lived in the same city.
Now we live in different cities. I work a crazy amount of hours and she is a stay-at-home mom to 3 adorable kiddos. It’s so hard to get together and I wish we were able to see each other more often.
She makes my heart happy.
Love you JLM!
[what i’m loving]
I just bought this flip flop holder and I’m super excited to get all my flips in order.
I have one of these already but apparently more sandals than fit on one. So now I’ll be able to keep them all in some semblance of an order. Right now they are in the garage, on the floor, everywhere.
See next item.
[what we’ve been up to]
Somehow my closet turned into this.
I hate it!!
So I’m in the middle of closet clean out. Organize. Donate. Because digging through this mess for a pair of booties is awful.
[what i’m working on]
The Hubster and I are working on a vacation to Jamaica in March with some friends.
It’s going to be amazing to be in the warm water with the sun.
Oh! I can’t wait.
[what i’m dreading]
Well. Since we are heading to warmer weather where I will have to wear a bathing suit, it’s time to start eating better and working out.
I hate eating better and working out.
I much prefer chips and dip and watching tv.
But I’ll drag myself back to the gym because I’ll feel better.
Or at least I keep telling myself that I’ll feel better. 😉
[what i’m excited about]
I get to be with these people again this weekend.
Mysteriously I can’t find my selfie stick and I’m wondering if it’s because I insist on taking these pictures!
[what i’m watching/reading]
I’m super behind on shows lately.
Do you guys watch Walhburgers? You know I love me some New Kids on the Block. And Marky Mark.
So this show was a natural show for me to watch.
It’s super funny.
I’ve eaten at the original Walhburgers and it’s delicious.
I’m also trying to get The Hubster to take me back there!
You guys know I’m a giant fan of Gilmore Girls.
So when I saw that Lauren Graham wrote a book, I really wanted to read it.
I’m about halfway through and I love it. She’s hilarious. Plus, I love hearing her perspective on Gilmore Girls.
[what i’m listening to]
Ed Sheeran is back!!!
His first single, Shape of You, did not disappoint either.
It’s currently on repeat on my phone!
[what i’m wearing]
Because blogging has turned me into a super vain person and now I take mirror outfit selfies whenever I have the opportunity to show off my outfit. Oy.
In any case, this outfit I wore when I traveled and it was super comfy. Plus I had my Uggs on so my feet were warm and comfortable the entire trip. (I drove.)
It’s an upgrade from when I usually wear sweatpants on road trips.
I had an event that I went to one night and this is the coat I wore. I bought it at Express a million years ago on clearance and it’s the perfect nice winter coat. The one I linked above is not at all like this one, but it’s adorable and if I had a coupon, I would totally buy it! haha
This is what I wore to the event. I wanted to look dressy but not formal. This dress worked out perfectly. Plus the boots looked great too! I have a sparkly belt on that you can’t see, but it definitely made this outfit look one step more.
And there you have it – 3 outfits in the span of an hour. Casual driving outfit to art gallery chic. 😉
[what i’m doing this weekend]
We’re going to Buffalo to celebrate a ton of birthdays.
When I say a ton of birthdays, I mean this.
Our niece/goddaughter’s first birthday.
The Hubster’s 36th birthday.
The Hubster’s Grandpa’s 88th birthday.
My sister-in-law’s 31st birthday.
Oh and a bridal shower.
Yeah. A lot of birthdays.
But the Winter “one”derland party? Totally going to be the cutest!
[what i’m looking forward to next month]
The Hubster’s uncle is getting married in a few weeks and we are so excited to celebrate with them. His fiance is such a nice person and I’m so happy that she’ll officially be family. She’s just such a sweetheart and fun to hang out with.
And isn’t this just the fanciest invitation?
[what else is new]
Is everyone else sick?
I think between The Hubster and I and everyone else at work (there are only 12 of us), we are passing the same awful sinus/flu/cold around to each other.
Every time I think I’m over it, it comes back.
I am immensely grateful for Puffs Plus Lotion because while my nose feels so sore, it could totally be worse.
[bonus: favorite bachelor]
I couldn’t pick one favorite. I’m sorry.
I really liked Chris. He seemed like a cool guy who really wanted to find someone. (Although I totally could have told him that Becca and Whitney weren’t the ones for him. ha!)
And Sean. He seemed like a seriously genuine guy who really wanted to find his person. I didn’t think it was Catherine, but they seem so happy and their son is so adorable, so it’s a good thing I wasn’t in charge of matchmaking.
But I think my favorite Bachelor might be Aaron. He was the first one that I watched. It was before all the super crazy girls trying to get famous. And I loved Helene and Brooke. I totally would have been happy if he picked either one.
I feel really old now. Aaron’s season was on when I was in college. I remember watching the finale with my roommates and eating taco dip in our apartment living room.
