I think my first pair would have to be practical – my Hunter Rain Boots in navy. You never know what kind of terrain you might find on an island and these babies are both practical (keep the rain out) and cute.
If you are considering buying these boots for yourself (and you totally should!), note that they should not be substituted for winter boots. They are excellent at keeping out water. But are not excellent at keeping your feet warm while shoveling snow. Even if you have the adorable inserts. But if you do insist on using these boots for snow activities, you will not complain because hearing “I told you so” from The Hubster is just unacceptable.
A couple years ago, a friend told me to try Havaianas and that my feet would thank me. It’s possible that I now own like 10 pairs of these flips. They are so comfy and really tough. I have this exact pair and they feel amazing. They are perfect for the beach. Havaianas come in a ton of different colors and there’s a gold pair that I think you could dress up and wear out.
I bought these shoes for my brother-in-law’s wedding last fall and ended up not wearing them. And I don’t care that they are impractical, but if I was stranded on a desert island, I would *need* these shoes. They would get me through.
Let’s face the facts. They make me very happy when I get to see them smiling at me every day in my closet.
I can’t find these exact shoes for sale, but a similar pair is available at Zappos.
I know I’m only allowed 3 but can I have some runners up?
- Uggs – They didn’t make the top 3 because while they are warm, they do not prevent water from coming in very well. And I think wet feet on an island would be the worst.
- Sneakers – My sneakers are so comfy, I wish I could wear them all the time. Okay not really, but they are light and perfect for traveling, kind of working out.
- Note: I bought my sneakers on clearance at DSW a few years ago and I can’t seem to find them. It looks like these are the newest version.
I’ll be back next month for more Stranded! What 3 movies would I take with me?
