How is it Monday already? And is that why I accidentally posted the wrong post? I need more coffee…
The Hubster and I spent the weekend eating. No seriously we did.
Friday night we celebrated a friend’s birthday and I ended up with this amazing dessert/cocktail. It basically had chocolate liqueur and mint chocolate chip ice cream. Enough said.
Saturday we ended up at a Feastival. And let me tell you. We feasted. I started with some tacos, moved onto the bacon mac and cheese, and finished it off with some lemonade and a lemon curd cupcake. It’s amazing I was able to make it to the car.
I love food trucks. I’m also very grateful that I don’t encounter them on a daily basis.
Saturday night was spent relaxing by the fire. There’s something so calming and relaxing about a fire. I don’t know what it is exactly but I love sitting by one.
Oh and making s’mores. Because clearly all the food I ate earlier in the day had digested and I needed a late night snack.
I needed to shake it up a bit this weekend for church. Our church isn’t super fancy, so I thought it would be okay to wear this outfit. It was comfy and cute. Who could ask for more? And I can’t stop wearing my Sam Edelman sandals. They go with everything!
We recently found a little lake only about 10 minutes from the house, so we capped the weekend with some fishing. I didn’t catch anything and insisted on wearing heavy gloves anytime I had to encounter the worms. Fish were definitely there eating all the bait off my hook. Now I’m more motivated to get the big fish I saw swimming around.
I think the real reason I’m off my game this morning is because I was up super late watching the Olympics. How amazing are the swimmers? I feel like I was holding my breath when Katie Ledecky and Michael Phelps were swimming last night. Seeing these athletes put it all on the line is so inspiring. I love watching all the sports.
Can we all take a big sigh of relief that the Nordstrom Anniversary sale is over? Both The Hubster and my credit card are happy to be getting a break. Here’s what I think of the last of my purchases.
These Spanx leggings are pretty great. They do look like leather (you can’t really tell in this picture, though) and are good at sucking it all in. A definitely keeper. And the booties are from last year but will look awesome with the leggings. I’m getting excited for my Fall clothes!
I have no idea why everything looks dusty. Weird.
It’s very apparent that this is my new favorite t-shirt. It’s super comfy and goes with just about everything. Since I seem to be a fan of layering it, I haven’t worn it out yet, but I totally could. Maybe I’ll work it in to my rotation this week.
Can we thank the shopping powers that I got this blardigan? I was really worried that it would be sold out before it shipped. But it arrived in a pretty brown box last week. And it’s amazing. I’ll be wearing it all winter. I got it in Navy so it’s pretty versatile.
And these jeans? I wanted to like them so so very much. But they don’t fit me right. They’re pretty good in the waist, feel a little funny in the hips, and don’t fit at all in the calves. Sad. I wanted a pair of pink pants. I’ll keep looking.
I got some really great stuff from Nordstrom this last few weeks. I hope you guys did too! Leave me a comment and let me know what you got – I’d love to see how you put it together!
Have an excellent week! Tomorrow I’m sharing the first part of my beauty routine. (Stop laughing, Mom.) But first I need more coffee.
