Christmas 2020 – Part 1

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation': Oral History of Xmas Classic - Rolling Stone

We Christmas’d hard over here!

Come on in and see all the trouble we got into!

The first week of vacation was a little scattered. But it was just the 2 of us so we kind of just did our thing!

The weekend before Christmas, we got a decent sized snowfall.

It was so so pretty and I love having snow this time of year.

But that’s it – I prefer to have no snow after the 1st of the year. hahaha

The Hubster and I started our Christmas break with a drive around the neighborhood to look at all the lights.

Everything looked so awesome with the snow on the ground, too.

As it turns out, I ended up enjoying the lights and didn’t take a ton of pictures. This was sort of it. lol

Every year, I need to take 40 hours of continuing professional education to keep my CPA license current.

I’m the person who is frantically doing CPE at the end of every year.

Like on the 30th last minute.

But this year, I finished all of my CPE on the 20th!!!

WAHOO!

My father-in-law asked me if I was going to go downstairs to study and was blown away when I told him that I didn’t have to this year because I finished early. He looked at me like I had 2 heads and welcomed me to being a real adult.

I ran into my favorite boutique for a last minute gift and I noticed there was a spot right in front.

But I would have to parallel park. (Spoiler: I am an awful parallel parker and would usually rather drive around the corner than do it.)

I went for it.

I did it! (There were no witnesses so I had to take a picture.)

Christmas vacation was clearly off to an amazing start!

I decided to support a local bakery and buy my sugar cookies instead of making and decorating myself.

How cute are these cookies?!?!

They were delicious!

We gifted my parents an iPad this year.

I knew in advance they weren’t going to be celebrating with us in person, so I was trying to decide how I was going to be able to help them without being there in person.

One of my friends told me to set it up in advance so they could just turn on the iPad and go.

GENIUS!

I programmed all of our contacts in there so when they want to FaceTime us, we are already in there!

All ready for Santa!!

This was a first.

I watched Christmas Eve mass in my pajamas on the couch with a hot chocolate.

Here’s hoping this is the first and only year we do this. And next year I’m back with my people again.

I got The Hubster a big screen and projector so we could have movies outside this year.

He set it up so we could see it from the couch and I thought that might have been a little too close.

The Hubster then made us some yummy Eggs Benedict and we enjoyed them with some Christmas mimosas!

Merry Christmas 2020 from us! 🙂

We went over to our friends’ house for Christmas evening and watched Fred Claus.

And a sweet little kitty hung out on my lap for the night!
