We went on our first ski vacation with some friends last weekend and I’m quite sure The Hubster thought this would be how it went.
Everyone out on the mountain. All of us laughing and having fun.
Let’s just say, it wasn’t the picture above.
We got to our rental house on Thursday night and The Hubster held his own personal cooking show and taught everyone how to marinate a tenderloin.
haha
We got up the next morning and headed to the lodge so I could rent all my equipment. My ski school didn’t start for another 2 hours, so we can back to the house to relax until I could get into class.
I rented my helmet and borrowed a pair of goggles, so I can’t link to them.
I relaxed on the couch and read a book for awhile!
It was so windy on Friday that I was super happy to be cozy inside.
This is where my regular picture taking stopped because I’m not good enough to have a cellphone out and ski at the same time.
I was barely able to adjust my mittens while skiing. haha!
This is our friend’s daughter Margaret, who is 6, and is an amazing skier. She was so sweet while I was skiing and encouraged me like, “Miss Sarah, it’ll be better if you don’t go into the weeds” and “it’s not that big of a hill this time, you can do it.”
I did okay at ski school, contemplated quitting, and then realized this was something The Hubster enjoyed and gave myself a pep talk. I figured if I didn’t keep trying, I wasn’t going to get any better.
And I got back on the kiddie magic carpet, fell, got up and tried again. 😉
After a long day of skiing, we decided to play some games of Guess Who.

Saturday morning, we got up and I got ready to ski.
Don’t we look ready?
Saturday went so much better.
I was able to maneuver myself down the greens fairly well and I was only falling occasionally by the end of the day.
Granted, I could barely move my legs by the end of the day, but it was still kind of a win.
The view outside our house was beautiful!
All in all, it was a fun trip and I’m glad I did it.
We are making plans to keep skiing and head back soon.
If you end up loving skiing you MUST head out to Colorado for some incredible powder! We love to go to Steamboat Colorado and we always stay here … https://www.simplysteamboat.com/CL3204 … you could even go to Steamboat in the summer for some awesome hiking, biking, and hot springs! ❤

The Hubster lived in CO for a year before we were married and we keep talking about going back to try to ski. Now I just have to be able to make it down a green without falling! 😉
