Um…yikes! It’s the end of November already?!?! How is it that time is flying by so quickly?
[what we’re eating this week]
I’m pretty sure we’ll be eating the same food this week as the rest of America. 😉
But just to mix it up and keep us on our toes, The Hubster and I are heading to a Buffalo institution tonight. Chef’s has the best pasta around. We even had our rehearsal dinner there many moons ago. So tonight, we’ll be feasting on Spaghetti Parm.
You know, right before we stuff ourselves full of turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes. 🙂
[what i’m reminiscing about]
I miss vacation.
I really miss vacation.
[what i’m loving]
I haven’t seen this girlfriend in months. Tonight we’re having dinner, drinks, and hanging out at the Sabres game.
Being with good friends makes my heart hapy.
[what we’ve been up to]
We just got back from vacation!
I’m also working on posting every day in November as part of #nablopomo. So far it’s working. 🙂
[what i’m dreading]
I have a few people on my Christmas list that I have no ideas for. Nothing. Nada. Zip.
They’re important to me and I don’t want to default to gift cards.
So it’s back to the drawing board.
[what i’m working on]
Every year, The Hubster’s family does homemade gifts for each other.
This started when The Hubster and his siblings were little kids and they wanted to give each other presents, but didn’t have any money. So they started homemaking each other gifts. It remained a tradition that now includes all the spouses and kids.
We used to pick a name at Thanksgiving, but since we sometimes needed extra time, we pick names at Halloween.
This year I have my nephew and The Hubster has his dad, our brother-in-law. We’re going to make them a puppet theater as a joint gift. Well. The Hubster will be constructing the actual theater and I’ll be helping.
I’m super excited about this gift and can’t wait to do it with The Hubster.
They don’t read this blog so I’m not spoiling it.
[what i’m excited about]
Our Christmas Open House Party is in a few weeks!
I can’t wait to find the perfect dress!
[what i’m watching/reading]
What am I watching?!? Let me see – CHRISTMAS MOVIE TIME!!!!!
I don’t know if I can get anymore excited!
Oh. My. Gosh.
Two by Two is fantastic.
I read it last week when we were on vacation.
Of course I sobbed through the end like I usually do.
Thank goodness it was at night in the car and The Hubster was engrossed in driving. So he wasn’t paying attention to me frantically wiping my face. And I turned the radio up so he wouldn’t hear me sniffle.
[what i’m listening to]
Have you heard the song This is My Wish by Kevin Ross? It plays on the Glade commercials and I have totally fallen in love with it.
Definitely one of my favorites this holiday season!
[what i’m wearing]
I wore this outfit when we were hanging out in Newport, RI. We met a friend for dinner and it was an upscale restaurant. But this outfit totally worked. It was fancier than just regular jeans but didn’t feel too dressy for a relaxing, casual vacation.
I see this shirt is selling out online, but when I visited a Nordstrom (!!), there were a ton in there in various sizes.
I have had the vast majority of this outfit forever. (Hence the “similar” in front of most of the outfit.) But it was the perfect fall outfit for me to shop in. It was comfortable and warm.
[what i’m doing this weekend]
I do have a lot of my shopping done, but this will be me after the weekend of shopping!
But don’t worry. I’ll be relaxing while watching GILMORE GIRLS!
I am so excited for Friday.
I have only been talking about it forever.
[what i’m looking forward to next month]
We’re planning a really fun New Year’s Eve party with our neighbors. A chef (not Curtis Stone :() will cook dinner in the kitchen for about 10 of us. It should be so much fun and I can’t wait to ring in 2017 with some pretty fun peeps!
[what else is new]
I shopped and shopped while we were on vacation, so stay tuned to see the fun stuff I found!
[bonus: what is your favorite thanksgiving tradition]
I started doing 30 days of thankful a few years ago and while some of them are serious, some are funny. It really is fun to look back and see what was happening in our lives. So much changes and so much stays the same.
