Hurray! It’s book club time!
I’ve got some good ones this month too!
Oh my goodness – have you guys read The Giver by Lois Lowry?
Apparently it’s on the reading list for middle school kids. I’d never heard of it.
When I took Rosa out for her birthday, I was hanging out in the children’s section and came across this book. I read the author’s note in the beginning and realized I had to have this book.
I read this book in about a day.
It was soo good!
I had no idea what it was about but it was awesome. It’s also a movie on Netflix that I’m looking forward to watching!
Every year around this time, I read Love You, Mean It.
It was written together by 4 women who all lost husbands in the September 11, 2001 attacks.
Their stories are heartbreaking. From hearing about the attacks on tv to telling their children to having to identify their husbands, the courage these 4 women have shown is so inspiring.
This is a fantastic book that is worth your time.
I have been hearing all kinds of things about The Light We Lost by Jill Santopolo. So when I saw that it was 30% off at Target (plus my 5% discount), I figured it would be worth reading.
It’s really weird that I read this in September and it’s about September 11, 2001.
At first I thought I was going to like it because the characters are about my age and it happened while they were in college, like me.
But then it veered off into I don’t know.
I didn’t hate it.
I don’t know how I feel.
It was a very good read.
I just don’t know what to feel about it. Especially the last 20% of the book.
What do you
