What a week!

And it’s a holiday weekend! My favorite kind of Friday!

I found these on Haute Look last week and they are my new favorite thing for this summer. I cannot wait to wear them!

I can’t find them anywhere else online, but these are similar.

The other night I got home from work, heated up some leftovers, and headed to the patio to eat.

The Hubster was working late and I realized that it was the perfect night outside. Not too hot, not too cold. There weren’t any bugs outside yet. The sky was a gorgeous blue.

I ate in silence and enjoyed our yard.

I don’t get to do that very often and it was pretty fun. 🙂

Last weekend, I drove back and forth to Buffalo on the same day.

Side note:  I don’t recommend doing that alone. It’s a long drive. The Hubster drove the last hour when I couldn’t do it anymore.

I needed something to listen to and a friend recommended this podcast, S Town.

I was a huge fan of the first season of Serial and this one is by the same people.

I loved S Town. And hated it. And now I’m just totally and completely mystified by it.

It’s quite graphic.

If you’re easily offended by things, do not (do NOT) listen.

But if you need something crazy and intriguing, this is for you.

The first episode and a half, you’re totally going to listen and be like “what in the heck am I listening to?”

By the end of the second episode, you’ll be like “I can’t stop listening.”

Earlier this week I stayed in a hotel and the room was super super hot. I went over to the thermostat and tried to change it from 74 to 70. It wasn’t working.

I finally got it down to 72 but couldn’t get it down enough where I wasn’t waking up in a fit of heat stroke in the middle of the night.

Still, my room was really warm.

A co-worker was storing stuff in my room on Tuesday and when he went to pick it up, I told him I couldn’t get my thermostat to work.

He took one look at this one and said to me, “um, Sarah? This is for the heated floor in the bathroom. No wonder your room is so hot.”

The Hubster thought this was hilarious when I told him on the phone what happened.

I didn’t realize I was staying in such a fancy room!

I’m on the fence about whether this last one should be a favorite or not.

Did anyone else watch the Dirty Dancing remake?

I don’t know if I liked it or not.

The original I watched at my friend Brianne’s house in 4th grade. (!!!) My mom said I couldn’t watch it because it wasn’t for kids. So Brianne’s mom let us watch it.

Oh youth.

My super naiive 10 year old self had no idea what the movie was about and I just really liked the dancing.

This new version was meh. But once I got over the fact that it was a remake and they were adding in other parts that I did like, the movie seemed better. I liked that they gave Lisa some real storyline and that at the end she sang a song with the musician. (I think my favorite part.) And the drama in the Houseman’s marriage seemed real and different.

But I have to say – the end number and some of the iconic lines were a fail.

Even The Hubster thought so.

I’ll be honest, until last night I didn’t know if he had ever seen the original.

Overall…I’ll give it a C.
