Book Club

It’s book club day!

I’ve been a busy reader this last month, too!

I have loved sports (primarily basketball) since I was about 12 years old. One summer, I read every single biography of basketball players that our library had. And really, my mom should have probably paid attention to what I was reading because some of it was probably what my 13 year old self should have been reading. lol

Anyway – I read Magic Johnson’s biography years and years ago, but when I recently saw that his wife had written a book, I thought that it would be interesting to hear what her life has been like. She’s married to one of the greatest basketball players of all time and endured a lot of public scrutiny over her life.

This book was really good. She seems like a really smart and well rounded lady. I really have a lot of respect for her after reading her story. Even if you’re not a sports fan, this book was a good read.

I read a Lisa Scottoline book a few years ago and I was completely hooked.

I do admit, though, some of her books aren’t totally me and some seem kind of predictable.

This one, One Perfect Lie, is really good. I read it while relaxing in my hammock and it was a really nice afternoon read. There were some twists and turns I totally didn’t expect. I liked it. And I’ll definitely be reading more of her books!

Oh my gosh. I didn’t want to like The Shack. First because it was horror movie scary sounding. Second because the first part of the book is really sad.

But once I got into it, I really liked it and was totally hooked.

It’s spiritual and makes you really think about how you view religion and God and relationships with everyone.

I totally recommend it!
